Thank you for being an integral part of the UC Davis Comprehensive Flow Cytometry training course.  Without the support of our industry partners, this training opportunity would not be available to campus and private researchers, including faculty, post-docs, graduate students, and visiting scholars, as well as national and international researchers. Each year the course is highly successful, enrolling 35+ enthusiastic and engaged students who benefit from the expertise of the course instructors and vendor sponsors. The course is taking place this year during the week of July 11-15, 2022. This year the course will be entirely online, to ensure the safety of all participants while COVID-19 continues to circulate  in our communities. The course has been redesigned to lessen “Powerpoint fatigue” and to incorporate more data analysis and other interactive sessions give students the best experience and as much instructive time at the cytometers as possible using live streaming videos.

I expect that Jonathan and I will be able to combine our time-tested course content and enthusiasm for flow cytometry to bring our students a well-rounded and fun online learning experience. As such, I would sincerely appreciate your participation and support in this year’s course, virtually from your office, of course!

The course is a great training opportunity with up-to-date lecture and laboratory sessions. It is one of only a few comprehensive courses offered nationally, the only of its kind on the west coast, and it is an excellent value. The course continues to be quite popular and is fully enrolled each year. The unique strengths of the course that continue to maintain its popularity stem from the breadth and depth of the material and cytometry systems featured, including:

·       Materials that incorporate the evolving knowledge of its core facility manager instructors.

·       Vendor partner instructors: Your expertise is invaluable in providing in-depth perspective on cutting edge cytometry equipment and assays.

·       Guest lectures - Our guest speakers provide contextual background in cytometry applications.

·       Various techniques and equipment platforms are featured so that our students learn about a variety of instrumentation platforms and engineering solutions.

·       A variety of reagent and assay systems are featured from several manufacturers.

I invite you to participate in supporting this excellent training course. Your sponsorship is appreciated and allows you to interact with the students in an online setting. If you can lead a laboratory session, please let me know.
