A Hands-On Introduction to Conda

Thursday, March 18, from 10:00 am-12:00 pm PST.
Instructors: Marisa Lim and Abhijna Parigi (UC Davis/Common Fund Data Ecosystem)

Description:
Does your computational workflow rely on multiple specific versions of software? Would you like to learn how to test new packages without disrupting your current workflow?

This free 2 hour hands-on tutorial will introduce you to the package and environment manager, Conda. You'll learn how to set up conda environments and manage software installations. We'll discuss other applications, such as packaging software, running workflows, or creating binders all with conda!

This workshop will be conducted remotely via Zoom. The workshop Zoom link will be emailed to participants after registration closes (March 17).

Participants should plan to fill out a brief survey before and after the workshop.

Prerequisites

No prior experience is needed, although some familiarity with bash command-line computing is helpful.

Who is offering this?

This workshop is a pilot workshop offered by the Lab for Data Intensive Biology as part of the NIH Common Fund Data Ecosystem training and engagement program.
