Description: In this workshop, Emma will provide an overview of different cloud-based data collection applications, including Esri's Fieldmaps and Survey123, and discuss real-world examples of how these tools have been used in industry and academia. She will also walk through a tutorial for creating and deploying a survey.
Learning Objectives: Participants learn will about projects that use cloud-based data collection applications and learn how to create, deploy, and share their own data collection survey.
Prerequisites: None, although familiarity with ArcGIS Online is helpful.
Software: ArcGIS Online account. Esri Survey123 and Fieldmaps applications installed on a smartphone (to test your own survey!).
Instructor: Emma Forester
Instructor Biography: Emma is a 3rd year PhD student in geography at UC Davis. She has been working with GIS in academic and industry settings since 2018. Currently, Emma uses Esri applications such as Fieldmaps and Survey123 to collect spatial data on bird behavior on and around floating solar arrays in California and Florida.
